The St. Joseph River in South Bend Indiana is the namesake of this very town. The city itself it situated at the south of a large bend in the river as it makes its way north toward Lake Michigan. The relationship between river and city is one that has left a lasting impact upon the natural environment. Plagued by the waste of civilization the water is polluted with an array of trash, chemicals, and refuse that has been discarded over the past few centuries. Many of these remnants take centuries to fully break down or do simply do not degrade on their own. Often times I have taken to the banks of the river in search of "treasures", most often discovered as pieces of broken antique glass. This project works as a catalog of some of the more beautiful and unique pieces that I have come across along the banks of the St. Joe River.
